In-Person Assessments

Sinead has a wealth of experience completing Speech and Language Communication assessments. At Connect and Communicate we provide a full comprehensive in-person assessments.

The benefits of a school and home setting for assessment is that the therapist can view the child’s functional skills and clearly identify everyday communication barriers. In the school setting, observation can outline any tools or functional strategies that may support access to learning, it can also identify masking techniques a child has adopted when they may not be understanding in the classroom. Observation can also support social communication observations and how language or social communication differences may impact on peer relations.

This information alongside formal/informal assessments and create a whole picture of the client, with the addition of teacher and parent discussion.
